MapSearch Engine

Introduction:
deCarta's MapSearch Engine is a hosted "white label" solution providing content indexing and single line local search. It works on your content, with relevance, recall, and speed competitive with Google Maps or Bing Maps. This is NOT another Lucene based solution. deCarta can help with "organic" geo content blending and de-duplication with your content.

Other Demos

Introduction:
This page contains a variety of other demos that demonstrate the power, capability, and extensibility of the deCarta platform.

Draggable Routes - Select an origin, destination, and calculate a route. Select a point along the route and drag it to a new position to create a new route that passes through the point.

Route Optimization - deCarta's platform is able to optimize a collection of stops for a service vehicle to minimize drive time. In this demo, first click on the map in several locations to create the stops that the driver is required to make. With the 'Optimize' checkbox unchecked, press the 'Show Route' button. The non-optimal route is displayed. Check the 'Optimize' checkbox to view the optimized route.

Traffic Incident/Flow - Demo shows live traffic conditions in the Boston area using a feed provided by TrafficCast. Click on the map to select an origin and destination and you'll receive a route that takes traffic conditions into consideration.

OpenSearch w/ Overlays - This deCarta example demonstrates integration of an OpenSearch+Geo search serivice with our JS API. It allows a user to overlay points or polygons from an external services by just writing some basic server-side and JavaScript code. The basic outline is that a developer would use a spatially enabled database, along with a small amount of server-side code to respond to a request and returns either KML or GeoJSON. After the data is returned to the browser, if it is KML then our JS API provides classes to bind to the data, if it is GeoJSON then the developer can eval() the data and proceed to display it however they wish. The server-side code uses the clip and generalize functionality in the database to reduce the amount of information sent to the client.
To drive the demonstration click on the button for what you want, treatment plants are points, while senate districts are polygons. With polygons you can chose to render them client side (in the browser) or server side (DDS will put them on the tile before returning them). The server-side tiles will take longer since you are basically fetching the geometries to the browser and then sending them back to the server for rendering on the tiles. If you want to see the KML returned by the service check the XML box. The best way to clear the application is to reload the page.

Route Corridor Search - Highlights the 'search along route' capabilities of deCarta's platform. Create a route and then modify the search criteria for POI's along the route - drive time, drive distance, line-of-sight distance.

Posted Speed Limits - Click on the map to find the posted speed limit on a specific feature. Note: Posted speed limit data is a premium feature available in deCarta's DDS Fleet product.

Heatmap Overlays - demonstrates how third party data can be overlayed on deCarta maps. The demo shows various weather forecast 'heat maps' that can be turned on/off
